Rotary Club Bwebbajja

Celebrating the Power of Education

As we come close to the end the first quarter of this Rotary year, I am pleased to highlight a few of the milestones we have so far achieved thanks to the collaboration, unity and resilience that has illuminated our path. Through our collective efforts, we have set new records and exemplified the spirit of service.

RC Bwebajja in District 9214 achieved remarkable milestones in the year 2023/24. We proudly became the first club in the district to qualify for Global Grants during this Rotary year. Additionally, we received a Rotary International Citation for our outstanding contributions in the visionary year of 2022/23. Our commitment to service extended beyond recognition, as we donated over $6,000 to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) and efficiently published the July and August editions of our club newsletter, ‘Siren. Notably, we broke new ground by launching the first-ever Rotary Membership Series. Furthermore, in collaboration with Rotaract Bwebajja and other partnering Rotaract Clubs, we created hope to Bufumira Island through initiatives such as renovating a classroom block, installing two boreholes, constructing a bio-digester toilet, conducting a medical camp, and generously donating essential items like Mama kits, reusable sanitary pads, used clothing, and household necessities. As we enter the Basic Education and Literacy Month of September, it provides us with an opportunity to reflect on our transformative journey—a journey that extends far beyond classrooms and fosters a culture of learning within our communities.

Through our investments in education, we empower individuals to shape their destinies, break the shackles of poverty, and nurture a future that is robust and sustainable. Let us take this moment to enjoy the impact we have made so far and strengthen our commitment to the journey ahead.

Our club’s commitment goes beyond our regular meetings and projects; it is a promise to build a legacy that transcends time itself. Let us persevere as agents of change, imprinting unwavering marks of learning and empowerment on the lives we touch.

Together, let us transform this Rotary year into a testament that celebrates the power of education, the power of unity, and the enduring power of the human spirit.

Thank you.
